Configure your admin panel

Admin Panel

Once you log into your admin panel for the first time you will have to configure your sales receipt header and your taxes. This section will also show you how to manage your accesses to the admin panel and to the Koomi iPad applications.

If you contact Koomi for support, please make sure to have your account number with you. This number can be found in the top left of your admin panel next to the title ‘KOOMI POS’

The very first time you log into your admin panel, you must first configure your receipt header via the about form.

Taxes

Once your receipt header is set up, you must configure your taxes. You have the choice to select from 0, 1 or 2 taxes.

If you have sale taxes, simply enter the tax name and rate. The rate can have up to 3 numbers after the decimal.

For example, in Quebec, Canada the QST tax rate is 9.975%. If you have different taxes to apply based on the subtotal, you can easily configure this by using the optional fields ‘Apply Tax From $‘, ‘Apply Tax To $‘, ‘Apply Tax To No Limit‘.

For example, in Ontario, Canada, if your subtotal is $4.00 or less for prepared food and beverages, only the tax GST at a rate of 5% is applicable. $4.01 or more, HST is applicable at a tax rate of 13%

The way to configure these 2 taxes would be as follows:

Tax 1
1. Name: GST
2. Rate %: 5.000
3. Apply Tax From $: 0.00
4. Apply Tax To $: 4.01

Tax 2
1. Name: HST
2. Rate %: 13.000
3. Apply Tax From $: 4.01
4. Apply Tax To No Limit: Selected checkbox

If you have 2 taxes, the order in which you enter them will be the order in which they will be applied.
If you have 2 taxes that have to be calculated in a compound manner, simply select the ‘Compound‘ check box.

Access

App password

Should your iPad get lost or stolen, you can generate a new app password. For more information read here.

PIN

With BASIC plan you will have one cash register, Koomi Master.

PRO PLUS
With PRO PLUS plan, you can have up to 2 cash registers, that is to say 2 Koomi Master apps. You can relay orders to the kitchen with up to 2 Koomi Kitchen apps and take clients orders in lines or at the table with up to 2 Koomi Rover apps. Read Koomi Master.

MULTI

Configure your network

Best practices

Here are the different Wi-Fi networks we recommend setting up:

  • A 5HGz password protected network for the Koomi iPad applications. All Koomi iPad applications must be connected to the same network.
  • A 2.4GHz password protected network for any other peripherals such as payment terminals, computers, etc.

Note: If you plan on allowing clients to connect to Wi-Fi, create a separate password protected guest network.

Configure your device

In order for the Koomi iPad applications to run smoothly with other peripherals, the auto-lock must be set to Never.

From your iPad’s home screen, launch the Settings app.
1. Tap Display & Brightness.
2. Tap Auto-Lock.
3. Select Never.

To ensure your iPad’s time is synchronized with your admin panel, the Set Automatically setting must be enabled.

From your iPad’s home screen, launch the Settings app.
1. Tap General.
2. Tap Date & Time.
3. Enable Set Automatically.

Launch Koomi app

Activation

To activate an iPad when launching Koomi, you will have to enter your account’s email and app password.

Start-up sequence

The Koomi Master application must always be the first app to be launched, followed by the Koomi Kitchen and Koomi Rover apps. The Koomi Kitchen and Koomi Rover apps will not launch if the Koomi Master app is not running.

Force close

If you plan on using other apps on the same iPad as any of the Koomi apps, you can do so. However, do not suspend the Koomi apps. Always force quit the apps and relaunch them.

Your subscription

Subscription

You can change your subscription at any time in your admin panel in the ‘Billing’ tab.
You can also cancel your account at any time and reactivate it later if you choose to.
